The First Nations refers to aboriginal peoples of Canada and is comprised of more than 600 tribes (or bands) spread across Canada with the highest concentrations in Ontario and British Columbia.
Today, more than 1,300,000 people in Canada identify as part of the First Nations (roughly 4% of the total Canadian population) The aboriginal, First Nations communities are the fastest growing demographic in Canada.
More than 50% of aboriginal people live in or around urban centers.
